The Tender Gardener, established in 2020 by Lana Williams, is a boutique plant shop and design company based in Oakland, California. The plant shop offers quality and specialty indoor houseplants and homegrown flowers that can be purchased online or in person at the greenhouse. Custom plant design services are available for businesses and private residences tailored to your style, space, and budget. Sharing knowledge and a love for plants is at the root of The Tender Gardener. Lana leads workshops on container gardening, plant care basics, repotting, plant design principles, wreath making, and flower arranging. Her first book, The Container Garden Recipe Book, published by Aritsan Books is available for pre-order now. She believes that living with plants brings beauty and tenderness that enriches the joy of life.

An artist and plant enthusiast, Lana first used the name, The Tender Gardener, for one of her painting exhibitions in San Francisco. The paintings were inspired by working in her garden and tending to her indoor jungle. Her passion for plants and flowers runs deep. Her grandmother owned a flower shop and always had a house full of plants. Now Lana is carrying on her family tradition and passion for plants and flowers and wants to share that with you.
