Asplenium nidus, 'Bird's Nest Fern'

from $7.00
sold out

6” Asplenium Nidus, Bird’s Nest Fern shown

Asplenium nidus, Birds Nest Fern, has bright green flat fronts with waves or ripples along the edges. New fronds look like “eggs” emerge from a brown fuzzy “nest” in the center of the plant. These epiphyte ferns often found in the canopy of trees in their native habitats can get enormous. Under the right conditions in your home can grow 4 feet high and 3 feet wide.

  • LIGHT: Prefers medium indirect light.

  • WATER: Keep this fern evenly moist, never allowing to dry out completely. Always water around the edge of the pot, NEVER WATER IN THE NEST, as it may rot the plant. This fern loves humidity; hang it in a bathroom with good light or place it on a pebble tray to raise the humidity.

  • FERTILIZE: During the growing season fertilized with a diluted water-soluble fertilizer once a month.

Contactless delivery available in SF, Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany and Alameda. Free for orders over $30. $15 delivery fee for elsewhere in the Bay. Pick ups can be arranged in Oakland.
